The academic year closed with spirited programme leaving ceremonies at Boys Town and Mountain View Primary on June 18 and 23, respectively. Children were also rewarded with house prize field trips, including a visit to Castleton Gardens on June 21.
Adding to the excitement, 17 students from the University of Toronto’s Peace and Sports for Development faculty led activities at Boys Town and Mountain View Primary on May 27 and 28.
A new summer partnership with Project STAR saw an additional 40 students from Holy Family Primary School participate in literacy, numeracy, life skills, parental engagement, and creative and sporting activities. The summer term ended on a high note with performances in dance, drumming, and reflective presentations on June 16, followed by a prize-winning field trip to Hope Gardens on June 21.
The year also marked the completion of evaluations for the CRP replication site at Chalky Hill Primary, along with outcome assessments for PRW training objectives and programmes at Boys Town, Mountain View Primary, and Holy Family Primary. These reports were released in July 2025 and are available at www.childresiliency.org.
Additionally, CRP has developed an Operational Guideline Manual and kit, alongside the PRW training manual, to support the continued expansion of its peace-building and resiliency model.
CRP extended heartfelt thanks to the Joan Duncan Foundation of JMMB, American Friends of Jamaica (AFJ), VM Foundation, and all other donors whose generous contributions make the programme’s ongoing work possible.
