The training arm of the Child Resiliency Programme (CRP) has successfully concluded another impactful year of its Building Peace, Resiliency and Wellness (PRW) initiative, reaching both university students and children considered “at risk” or recovering from trauma.

For the 2024–2025 academic year, PRW training was delivered at the Peace Institute of the International University of the Caribbean (IUC) to 15 Council of World Mission students and 92 university students enrolled in Guidance and Counselling, Bachelor of Education and Psychology, and Masters in Education and Administrative Leadership programmes. These participants are now equipped to better serve children facing difficult circumstances.

At the community level, 75 referred children, aged 9 to 11 and identified as “at risk” from Edward Seaga, Trench Town, Boys Town All Age, St Alban’s, St Annie’s Primary Schools, and the Mountain View Primary, benefited from a holistic programme that included literacy and nutritional support, life skills training, creative arts, sports, parental training, counselling, and home visits.
